INTRODUCTION

This course covers both the theories and practical applications of pumps and cooling towers in buildings. The course leader will assist the participants to understand the fundamental theories of water pumps, highlighting the important requirements for proper installations. In the application of the water pumps, different system configurations will be introduced. Emphasis will also be made in the area of energy saving regarding the design and operation of the pumps. This course will also cover the service maintenance of water pumps.

  • Explain what dissolved gases and micro-organisms are, how they affect cooling water systems, and how their effects can be minimized.
  • Describe ways chemicals are added to cooling water systems.
  • Describe precautions when working with hazardous chemicals
