About Course

The course covers aspects of health, safety and environment (HSE) relating to the workplace environment. The roles of management and non-management personnel in the development and implementation of a successful health and safety programme are addressed. The course focuses on the principles of occupational HSE, specifically the following major components: management, hazard impact and identification, control and prevention.

Describe current regulations and law relating to health, safety and environment (Malaysian HSE) and the role of engineers and technologists as HSE personnel or employee;
Identify the hazards in the workplace;
Discuss and apply the method of HSE assessment of identified process work unit;
Relate safety issues to the design and operation of equipment to their discipline; and
Analyse HSE component in any given case studies, accidents and failures.
