INTRODUCTION

This course provide an important fundamental view on electronics for participants in order for them to develop a good foundation in understanding electronics which can be further studied as it is an wide field to be covered. After learning this course, participants can move to intermediate electronics activities such as a more in depth coverage on a certain branch of electronics e.g. telecommunications and design some simple circuitry.

Objective

The participants of this course will be able to learn of electronics, the usage and varieties of electronic components and manufacturing of electronic industries. This course also includes some basic practical electronic circuit construction and measurement.

Who should attend?

This training course is designed to provide knowledge of electronics to non technical people. The non technical people cover manufacturing operators and leaders, technicians, supervisors and other staffs who do not have an engineering background. The course also develops participant’s ability to analyze basic electronic circuitry.

Methodology

Participants need to bring a scientific calculator for class exercises.

Day One

Participants will be exposed to the characteristics of electricity and electrons as a start. It will follow by how electricity is being produced and used by daily users; and moving on the evolution of electrical to electronics.

In this part, electrical and electronic components will be introduced as to understand its function and usage. The participants will also learned about the true meaning of measurements, units and table being commonly used and can be seen in their daily life.

The laws and circuit of electricity sets the basic for all electrical and electronic calculation. By understanding the electric laws and circuit such as Ohms Law, it will help the participants to have a good foundation in understanding circuitry.

  • Resistance, Capacitance and Inductance

Participants will learn the process of electronics circuit assembly and how it being mass produced in a manufacturing plant. An introduction on how electronics being assemble through soldering will be presented to the participants. Participants will get hands on experience on how to perform assembly of electronics components and circuitry as well.

Day Two

Earlier in Day 1, we have covered about electric circuits and in this part, electronic circuits are being introduced. The participants will learn about the ‘ones’ and ‘zero’ in electronics known as logic circuits. Design and circuitry of the electronics will also briefly present in this part.

Majority of electronic parts are sensitive and need to be safely protected. Here, participants will learned about on safe handling of electronic parts (ESD). The effect and consequences will also be presented to give a better understanding on the safety of electronics parts.

Participants will get hands on experience in constructing simple electronic circuits. After completion of the circuits, the electronic kit will be test and troubleshooting is being done to detect any problem or fault.

In the final part of this course, participants will learned on how to make measurement on electronics circuit. Some basic equipment such as multi meter and oscilloscopes will be used to give the participants hands on using the equipment.
